Todays Cheltenham Betting News:
The Cheltenham Festival may well be over for this year but there are already plenty of odds available for next year’s festival with the likes of Briar Hill, Champagne Fever and Hurricane Fly all commanding pretty low odds despite the races being well over 200 days away.
If you cannot wait till then though there is plenty more racing going on this summer with Royal Ascot in full swing at the moment and much more to come for the rest of the year.
The Cheltenham Festival is scheduled for Tuesday 11th- Friday 14th March in 2014 with the four days set out in the usual day. The Tuesday is Champion Day where the roar will be heard for the first time, followed by Ladies Day on the Wednesday, then we have St Patrick’s Thursday and finally Cheltenham Gold Cup Day on the final Friday.
There are already odds available on near enough all the races that will run over those four days in March and there will be plenty of punters investing on their favoured horses already. The odds are certainly longer the earlier you back the horses but with so much that can change between summer 2013 and Spring 2014 there are many who will be waiting till a little closer to the start of the races to get their wallets out.
Cheltenham Betting News
Having stormed home to a win at the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at the 2013 festival under Ruby Walsh, Briar Hill has been installed as the favourite for three separate races at the 2014 event. He clearly won’t be racing in all three but depending on which his trainer Willie Mullins decides he will go for he will certainly be favourite for. The crowd will probably like to see him go in the Supreme Novices Hurdle where he is currently favourite ahead of First Mohican and Regal Encore.
The early favourite for the big one, the Gold Cup, is Bobs Worth who has a flawless record at Cheltenham and will certainly be attracting plenty of backing. Other contenders will be Sir Des Champs and the stunning Sprinter Sacre.
